Commemorative Bench Program Application

Our commemorative bench program has returned! The Municipality of Kincarine offers a limited number of benches in select locations. The Commemorative Bench Program runs on a first come, first served basis. Please fill out the following form to be added to the queue for this year.

If there are still benches available when we receive your application, you will be contacted with the locations to choose from. If we do not contact you this means that there is nothing currently available.

The Municipality is offering one style of bench at this time, and there is no option to make alterations. We are not currently accepting applications to mount plaques to already existing benches.

Benches are classified as regular or premium based on location. Premium benches are located in high-traffic areas, like Victoria Park, Dunsmoor Park, Macpherson Park, and along the waterfront. The cost of a bench is:

  • Regular: $2,500 + HST
  • Premium: $3,200 + HST

Terms and Conditions:

Commemorative benches will remain in their place for a maximum period of 10 years. After 10 years, the Municipality will offer the donor the option to purchase another commemorative bench and plaque for another 10-year period. If the initial donor declines the extension, the spot becomes open for a new donor.

Please note that the bench may be removed before the 10-year period if it becomes unsafe, the warranty period has passed, and the donor has declined to assume the cost of repairs. In this case, the spot would be open for a new bench to be sponsored by others.

In situations where the donor has declined to extend or repair their commemorative bench purchase, the plaque will be available for pick-up at the Davidson Centre.

Warrenty

The Municipality will replace or repair the items at no charge to the donor for the warranty period specified:

  • Plaques within two years of the original installation date

  • Commemorative benches within 10 years of the original installation date

After the warranty period, the Municipality reserves the right to remove any damaged plaques or benches. Repair or replacement requests after the warranty period will be charged to the donor.

Return of Plaques to Donors

Once the donor elects not to renew their purchase and a plaque has been removed from service, the plaque will be available for pick-up at the Davidson Centre. Plaques will not be mailed to donors. Plaques that are not collected within one year of their removal from service will be disposed.

I agree to the above terms and conditions of the Municipality of Kincardine Commemorative Bench Program.
